This morning we received this terrific reminder from our Japanese students who’ve spent the last few months studying English, sharing Japan’s renewed spirit, and are now off to begin summer internships across the U.S. as part of the Kizuna Project.

“The Bosch Fellowship will allow me to work directly for German institutions to learn about how we can improve the way labor unions, non-profits, businesses and government work together to promote manufacturing and sustainably grow an economy that benefits all Americans.”

Our STEM LAUNCH group of students and professors from Morehouse and Spelman Colleges had a whirlwind first week in Germany.

The group visited a range of organizations all over Berlin to learn firsthand about prospective careers in STEM fields. The trip included a visit to Siemens, where they were shown around by Bosch Fellowship alumna Nakisha Evans, as well as visits to Technical University Berlin, Ecologic Institute, and even a reception at the American Embassy and interviews with the Goethe-Institut. The group also had a chance to visit Memorial Park Bernauer Strasse, which has one of the longest intact stretches of the Berlin Wall.

After a rewarding week in Berlin, the group is now spending the second week of their study tour in Munich.
